Truck Accident Facts
A four vehicle crash on August 1 claimed the life of St. Louis Alderman, Gregory J. Carter. The truck accident took place on Highway 370 near Elm Street in the eastbound lane.
Carter crashed his UPS truck into the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped in the middle lane of the highway. The truck was one of three vehicles stopped due to an earlier accident involving a suspected drunken driver in a pick-up truck. The alderman passed away at the scene of the accident.
That initial accident, which involved the pick-up truck, hit the back of a tractor trailer. Stltoday.com states that the man stopped his pick-up in the middle of the highway causing the blockage that resulted in the other tractor trailer stopping as well. This resulted in Carter hitting the back of that truck. Kmov.com reported that all the trucks, including the ones that came to the aid of the accident victims, pulled off onto the shoulder.
Whatever the case, the unfortunate incident was deadly.
