3 Injured, 1 Dead in Missouri Motorcycle-Truck Accident

A accident involving a pickup truck and motorcycle on Sunday evening in Jasper County resulted in the death of a Carthage man.

The accident occurred when a westbound pickup truck turned left into the path of an eastbound motorcycle. According to Missouri Highway Patrol, the collision happened at 7:15 pm on Jackpine Road, about four miles outside of Jasper County.

The motorcyclist involved in the crash has been identified as 34-year-old Christopher D. Sloniker. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Dustin J. Campbell, 26, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin via helicopter, after sustaining serious injuries in the accident.

Dale A. Rissman, 34, the driver of the pickup truck involved in the accident, was taken to Joplin’s Mercy Hospital. His passenger, a 14-year-old male, was taken to Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage.
